It’s a unique part of our local heritage, rich with stories, music, art and adventure. The story of the Underground Railroad is woven into the fabric of Guelph’s heritage mosaic. Each year we celebrate with our sister heritage organizations like the Guelph Black Heritage Society. The GBHS owns and operates the former BME (British Methodist Episcopal) Church, a historic stone building located on Essex Street in the heart of Guelph’s oldest working-class neighbourhood.
